The Ernest Yaw Kumi Foundation
The EYKF is a philanthropic organization dedicated to the memory and legacy of the late Ernest Yaw Kumi (1984–2025), a former Member of Parliament for the Akwatia constituency.
The foundation operates as a catalyst for community development in Ghana, focusing on five key areas:
1.
Education & Literacy
EYKF prioritizes closing the educational gap in underprivileged areas. This includes providing:
Scholastic Resources: Supplying textbooks, stationery, and learning materials.
Literacy Programs: Implementing structured reading and writing interventions for young students.
Digital Skills: Bridging the digital divide by introducing computer literacy and interactive digital content.
2.
Widow & Elderly Support
A major priority of the foundation is restoring dignity to the most vulnerable members of society.
Empowerment for Widows: Providing vocational training, micro-grants for business startups, and legal advocacy to protect land and inheritance rights.
Elderly Welfare: Establishing community learning and wellness centers that offer health screenings and social activities to combat isolation.
3.
Healthcare Access
The foundation works to improve health outcomes for vulnerable populations who lack access to quality medical services. This includes organizing community health outreaches and providing nutritional support to those in need.
4.
Youth Mentorship & Coaching
Through mentorship and capacity-building programs, EYKF prepares the next generation of Ghanaian leaders. These initiatives focus on professional coaching, leadership values, and career guidance.
5.
Community Development & Safety
The foundation implements sustainable projects focused on:
Social Welfare: Managing initiatives that promote economic growth and social stability.
Environmental Sustainability: Promoting safety and security measures through community advocacy and environmental initiatives.
